eSIM is a virtual SIM installed in a mobile or embedded Subscriber Identity Module. SIM technology is built directly into your phone. It is a small chip that does not need to be used on your mobile.
How does it work
You cannot remove the e-SIM, in the phone, tablet or any other device already installed. You cannot install it on all devices. E-SIM activates telecom companies. Its specialty is that you do not have to change the SIM card when you change the operator. Apart from this, the SIM card slot is also not required in the smartphone. If someone wants to buy a second SIM for their telecom service provider (replacing the SIM), then they will not have to buy another SIM, instead, the embedded Subscriber Identity Module (eSIM) will be inserted in their mobile phone and the e-SIM will be updated.
It may take some time to know and feel the full potential of the e-SIM. Some handset manufacturers, like Apple, have started manufacturing e SIM technology in their products, but customers have to provide feedback. It seems that E SIM will also find a place in a new generation of computers connected to LTE. Those computers are just starting to come but expect to see a lot in the next few years.
